Battery Disposal Notice
As a supplier of electronic goods that may contain batteries, Worldtech-Logistics is required by law to inform customers about the proper disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries.
Batteries Must Not Be Disposed of in Household Waste
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of in regular household or commercial waste. You are legally obligated to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.
Return Options
Used batteries can be returned through the following channels:
- Free return to our warehouse address (Chaussée Brunehault 43, 7134 Binche, Belgium)
- Return by post at your own cost
- Local battery collection points (retail stores, recycling centers, municipal collection facilities)
Why Proper Disposal Matters
Old batteries may contain harmful substances that can cause damage to health and the environment if stored or disposed of incorrectly. At the same time, batteries contain valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, and nickel that can be recovered through proper recycling.
Symbols and Markings
Batteries that must not be disposed of in household waste are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. Where a battery contains more than a certain threshold of hazardous substances, you will also find the following chemical symbols below the bin symbol:
- Pb – contains lead
- Cd – contains cadmium
- Hg – contains mercury
Legal Basis
This notice is provided in accordance with EU Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 and applicable Belgian legislation on the disposal and recycling of batteries and accumulators.
